Abstract

According to the American Kennel Club (2015), socializing your dog with humans and other dogs is an important part of the training process that when properly implemented, can lead to a happy and healthy life for your dog. With PetConnect, we provide users with a website designed with their dogs' social needs in mind. Users can register and create a profile for their dog(s) that showcases their personality and physical traits. They can also add family members to their dog's profile. With their account they can view profiles for other local dogs and reach out to their owners to see if their dogs are compatible. Currently there are no websites like PetConnect that have a household feature and a list filtering option. With PetConnect we bring dog owners together and provide a platform that promotes socially enriching interactions for their dogs.
