Accessible Wayfinding: McMapping Edition is a route-finding web application that provides users accessible routes within McMicken Hall. The University of Cincinnati's accessibility initiative uncovered deficits in the campus' overall accessibility, with a 2019 study conducted by EduCause finding “...half of the 40,000 students surveyed rated their institution negatively in terms of accessibility.” While UC's efforts improved many aspects of the university campus, it has yet to address needed improvements for those navigating inside UC's buildings. The McMapping wayfinding web application is designed to provide anyone with mobility concerns the means to navigate through McMicken Hall with peace of mind. An individual can use this app to select a starting location and a target destination within McMicken, then the program will provide an accessible route between them. Users can even create a personalized profile, allowing them to save routes and quickly pull them up across different devices.
