Abstract

The team of web and game developers shared the common desire to build a product that was both an immersive experience and easily accessible. There has been a recent influx of virtualized spaces and more specifically: the closure of art galleries. This caused issues for content creators and curators alike and therefore led to the fruition of ArtSync: a virtual gallery environment allowing artists to showcase their work and share it online. ArtSync was created in two significant parts: a 3D environment built in Unity and a website that has access to a database. Built within Unity was a realistic 3D gallery environment, movement controls, rendering abilities of the submitted artwork, and actions to view the art. The website was built to handle authentication, file uploads, gallery management, and permissions. The integration of these technologies led to an easily accessible, innovative, and unique final product known as ArtSync.
