Abstract

Textbooks and required technology have been necessary for many classes in the twenty first century, and this has left an even bigger financial burden on students. Most universities across the United States have not included technology and textbooks needed for classes in the student’s tuition. Our idea was for UCFreshBooks to be a web-based application that allows students across campus to come together and sell, buy, or trade books with one another at a reasonable price. Our goal was to have UCFreshBooks offer a more secure way to buy, sell, and trade books across the university. UCFreshBooks users meet in broad daylight in highly populated areas to deter scam and theft. This and other security features make UCFreshBooks stand out from our competitors. Only university students are allowed to join. UCFreshBooks provides a safe, easy, and cost-efficient way to sell used textbooks across the university.
