Abstract

Stolen credentials are an ever-growing issue in the Cybersecurity world. Multiple attack methods such as phishing, keylogging, and brute force exist to steal these credentials without the victim’s knowledge. To solve this problem, the Cred Check web application aimed to serve two functions: inform and educate. End users could securely search their credentials to determine if they had been breached. If they chose, the users could then educate themselves on ways to mitigate their chances of or hopefully prevent being breached with a multitude of educational modules. These modules contain a variety of information on different attack methods and advice for individual security for each method. Furthermore, they can inform themselves of ways to remediate an incident if their credentials were leaked. In the end, Cred Check worked to improve the Cybersecurity awareness of leaked credentials for individuals who were unaware of stolen credentials.
