Abstract

"In 2017, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI) emerged from a partnership between the University of Cincinnati and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The Ohio Cyber Reserve (OhCR), established by the Ohio Collaboration Committee (OC3), aims to bolster cybersecurity across the state. It engages volunteers to address vulnerabilities in municipalities and offer strategies for mitigating cyber threats. Recently, an exercise was conducted in collaboration with OCRI and OhCR to enhance Cyber Incident Response (IR) processes and bridge any gaps. Led by OCRI, the exercise focused on training OhCR and refining procedures for OpFor vs. Blue Cyber Exercises. Such exercises are crucial for ensuring that responses align with expectations and for improving readiness. This inaugural exercise underscores Ohio's commitment to cybersecurity and the continual enhancement of its defense capabilities."
