Abstract

Car owners have been failing to adequately maintain their vehicles. This results in unnecessary damage to the vehicle and unsafe driving conditions. MaintenanceSpace is an Android mobile application that’s purpose is to help individuals take care of their vehicles.  The application tracks when maintenance is needed for specific aspects of the vehicle and sends push notifications to remind the user.  Any past maintenance events can be used to generate a Comma Separated Values file to easily distribute or look over. MaintenanceSpace also provides users with quick access to nearby repair shops by utilizing the Google Maps app.  The team decided to work on this project because maintaining a vehicle can be an annoyance, especially due to the number of items that need to be considered.
