Abstract

"GamifyingCode is a collection of mini games centered around Information Technology intended for use by the UC Early IT recruitment team during their visits to various high schools in the program. The goal of GamifyingCode is to familiarize students with an interest in Information Technology with what they can expect in different topics such as Cybersecurity, Database Management, and Programming. This is accomplished through a Q&A game, like the game Kahoot, where students compete against one another to achieve the highest score while testing their knowledge and learning new things about each topic. As students answer questions, they also engage in battles with various enemies, keeping them engaged with the game. In the end, there are two unique ways to 'win' our mini games: by achieving the best percentage on questions and answers and by defeating as many enemies as possible."
