Abstract

"GearNet is a prototype student lab. environment designed by UC IT students for UC IT students. The goal of GearNet was to give students the ability to safely and easily learn how to configure and troubleshoot real networking equipment. To achieve this, the GearNet team has developed a web application, acquired necessary devices, and established policies and procedures. Through these efforts, the team has successfully created a functional prototype lab, empowering students to enhance their networking skills effectively. The project was also designed to be scalable and easily expanded upon so an interested party can build upon it if they wish."
