Abstract

FreshAlert, an innovative website, addresses the critical issue of food waste by connecting surplus food providers with conscientious consumers. While leveraging AI for suggesting recipes based on selected products, FreshAlert stands as a beacon of sustainable food management. Additionally, the website sends email notifications as products approach their expiration dates, prompting users to utilize them before waste occurs. This study scrutinizes FreshAlert's architecture, emphasizing its user-friendly features crafted to promote efficient food usage. Through comprehensive analysis of user feedback and case studies, our research underscores FreshAlert's pivotal role in reducing food waste at both consumer and provider levels. These findings underscore the transformative potential of technology-driven solutions in fostering a more sustainable global food ecosystem.
