Abstract

Phishing emails, a common internet fraud, is costing billions of dollars in losses each year according to FBI estimates. This project focuses on designing a tool to help users with little technical knowledge detect mal-intent emails. “The Phishing Pole” exists as a browser extension that users can easily open when using a web browser. “The Phishing Pole” contains databases full of known malicious emails as well as lists of legitimate emails from companies that are used along with an algorithm along with risk probability scoring to inform the user of the legitimacy of an email.
