Abstract

“Food Allergy Sidekick” is a web-based platform that helps users find allergen- free recipes and safe ingredient substitutions. For individuals with food allergies, meal preparation can be challenging due to the lack of personalized and reliable resources, as existing solutions often fail to offer tailored recommendations. Our platform addresses this issue by allowing users to input their allergens and receive customized meal suggestions and alternative ingredient options. Built using Django and OpenAI’s API, it features AI-powered recipe extraction, a user-friendly interface, and a growing community for sharing recipes and advice. Designed to be free and accessible, Food Allergy Sidekick enables individuals with food allergies to cook safely and confidently. Future enhancements include expanding the recipe database, integrating mobile support, and refining AI-driven features to improve usability.
