Abstract

Due to the exponential increase of cyber-attacks against both government agencies and public organizations, the need for concise and effective cybersecurity training is more important than ever. The Ohio Cyber Reserve (OhCR) was created as a force of volunteers to combat cyber threats within the state of Ohio and aid in the mentorship of up-and-coming cybersecurity professionals. As a result, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute hosts the annual Ohio Cyber Guardian event to train the OhCR through a table-top exercise involving five different attack scenarios. Our team, the Opposing Force, acted as the offensive red team, defining the paths of attack in collaboration with the Range Team, i.e., the team completing the infrastructure of the project, to fully create the exercise used at the Ohio Cyber Guardian event July 20th through July 23rd of 2024.
