Abstract

Student feedback is crucial to improving campus life at the University of Cincinnati. Existing systems, such as HappyOrNot kiosks, provide only numerical data, limiting their effectiveness in identifying opportunities for improvement. The lack of detailed, contextual feedback prevents administrators from making data- driven decisions to enhance the student experiences in housing, dining, faculty, and campus facilities. Current feedback tools fail to capture meaningful data beyond numerical ratings. UCReviews introduces a responsive web application allowing students to submit contextual reviews, combining both numerical ratings and written feedback with engagement features like likes, dislikes, and reporting mechanisms. The platform was developed using Angular, C# .NET Core, and Microsoft SQL Server. It incorporates authentication, user privacy protections, and moderation tools to ensure actionable, constructive feedback By creating a structured feedback system, UC Reviews fosters transparency between students and administrators and potentially leads to targeted improvements around campus.
