Food waste, limited time, and struggles finding recipes tailored to dietary preferences and needs are challenges that many individuals face, specifically college students. What's In My Fridge? is a web-based application built using Typescript, Node.js, and SQLite to confront these challenges by helping users discover recipes they can make using the ingredients they have. Features like tracking ingredients, searching for recipes based on personal preferences or what they currently own, viewing macronutrient information, and meal preparation assistance, users can optimize their cooking habits. Utilizing real-time user input, recipe APIs, and customizable nutritional profiles, the application provides an efficient, user-oriented experience focused on accessibility. Throughout the project's development, our team researched adjacent applications, defined key objectives, and tested to ensure functionality and usability. What's in My Fridge? aims to empower users to make smarter food choices, minimize food waste, and improve their daily cooking routines through a streamlined and intuitive platform.
