Abstract

Many drivers struggle to stay on top of their car maintenance, which can lead to expensive repairs that could have been easily avoided. The Garage Guide app was developed to assist motor vehicle owners with maintenance logging and repair tracking. Built using React for a responsive user interface and supported by Microsoft Azure cloud services, the app ensures reliable data storage, secure authentication, and timely notifications. A SQL database powers the structured maintenance history, enabling accurate mileage-based reminders and repair tracking. This app was tested to ensure vehicle owners receive accurate and timely notices on suggested maintenance. Previously, users often experienced costly repairs due to maintenance history being unknown or incomplete. Providing a platform like Garage Guide offers a solution that can create maintenance history from current mileage or be added to existing records. User testing found that centralized, accessible maintenance tracking improved user awareness and supported better long-term vehicle health.
