Abstract

Every day, people click links without knowing if they are safe. From office workers clicking email attachments and redirects to students accessing online materials and knowledge, users are constantly interacting with potentially harmful content. This exposes them to potential cyberattacks like phishing attempts for credentials, malicious redirects, ransomware, or malware downloads. To address this issue, our team developed Link Authenticator & Security Checker, a fast, real-time web-based application that analyzes URLs and generates an easy-to-understand safety score. By integrating four security intelligence services, the system provides a well- rounded threat assessment within seconds. The application is built using Python for backend processing, security and API integration, along with HTML and JavaScript for a responsive, and lightweight front-end experience. This architecture ensured fast loading times and an intuitive user interface. By using our Link Authenticator & Security Checker, we ensure a user's links are secure before they ever visit the website.
