Abstract

LeaseVault was a cybersecurity and AI-powered web application that provided a secure storage system and an AI-generated summary tool. The project’s goal was to assist young adults with managing and understanding lease documents effectively. Inexperienced renters may have difficulties reviewing and managing legal documents, particularly under time-sensitive conditions, which can lead to overlooked terms and legal clauses. To address this, LeaseVault provided a platform for users to upload a lease document and receive summaries that simplify key takeaways, such as responsibilities, penalties, and maintenance information. The frontend used Angular (TypeScript, HTML,CSS), while a Python and Flask backend securely processed files and communicated with OpenAI API to generate summaries. Firebase Authentication managed user login and access control, and Firebase Firestore stored user-scoped summaries and data. LeaseVault focused on maintaining cybersecurity practices to ensure confidentiality and data integrity while offering an accessible solution to review, manage, and understand lease agreements efficiently
