Abstract

Staff and students alike at our high school have long been frustrated by the outdated pen and paper sign out process employed whenever a student needs to use the restroom, see a nurse, or even get a drink of water. This disruption fails to keep students accounted for while simultaneously wasting valuable class time. Because of this dilemma, our team designed and developed Hallnut, a digital hall pass. Hallnut makes the process a breeze for students who can simply log in to request a hall pass, and teachers who may approve the pass and conveniently oversee their inaccessible students.
