This ongoing work investigates generative AI's impact on IT user interfaces through theoretical analysis and desk review. We examine how it transforms traditional UI paradigms via natural language interactions, context-aware responses, and autonomous adaptation. Our research identifies three key transformations: (1) interface simplification through conversational AI, (2) agent-based interaction patterns reducing cognitive load, and (3) evolution toward dynamically adaptive interfaces. Our work-in-progress framework analyzes these transformations, revealing a shift toward hybrid interfaces rather than complete replacement of traditional UI. These changes create both opportunities and challenges for businesses. Using SWOT analysis, we evaluate LLM integration to guide practitioners and researchers. We propose a three-step research agenda: collect multistakeholder insights, analyze the framework and design new e-commerce interaction frameworks, and validate these artifacts.
