Abstract

The Ohio Cyber Range Integrated Window is a solution that will cut down on Capture the Flag times, increase productivity in module learning, and help students retain knowledge. According to surveys that were taken by the Ohio Cyber Range Team, over 50% of respondents indicated that having the instructions available to them on the same screen as their virtual machine would decrease the time it takes to complete challenges. In surveys taken by the University of Cincinnati CECH IT Team, over 60% of students and instructors indicated that flipping back and forth between a virtual machine and canvas is cumbersome. Our team developed the Ohio Cyber Range Integrated Window to combine the Virtual Machine window and the instructions the students need to complete their exercise, learning module, or class work quickly and easily.
