Abstract

The purpose of OverIT was twofold. First, we wanted to create a service that helped users with IT issues at home without the need for a subscription, and second, we wanted to give IT students and aspiring new workers in the IT field opportunities to learn and gain real work experience. We accomplished these goals by creating a web-app that allows users to request help from local volunteers to solve their IT problems. By utilizing as ASP.net frontend connected to a SQL backend we have created a system that allows users to submit IT tickets which in turn can be picked up by aspiring students and workers in the IT field that wish to advance their resumes with real world experience, while also providing a no cost solution for the users who desire help with their technology.
