The Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI) wanted to improve its VMWare-based platform that students and instructors use to access and manage virtual machines (VMs). OCRI has requested to advance from the current out-of-the-box solution to a self-developed solution based on VMWare’s vCenter technology. The requested solution needed to include new functionalities for instructors to upload lab materials and for students to access VMs and lab materials on the same web page. The OCR Facelift project's purpose was to be a proof of concept by developing a Java Spring Boot web-based application that made use of vCenter’s REST APIs to access and manage VMs. The OCR Facelift web application fulfilled the requested functionalities and enables adding additional features in the future.
